Sea of Light
about
Book production, end to end. From design and copy editing to print – I've been working with multi-page publications for over a decade. So I don't just do the design and prepress; I can also orchestrate the entire cycle, keeping everything on budget and on schedule.
Project specifics
Timing was a key constraint – so the printing technology was selected with production weeks in mind, balancing the schedules for both the cover and the interior block.

Using Midjourney for illustration support helped speed up the design phase significantly on a 52‑page book. The design and visuals were tailored for one‑color digital offset printing – though the print shop still invited me for a press check to ensure accurate halftone reproduction. The client was very pleased with the final print run.
Tight deadlines
Since the print run had to be delivered by a specific date, I used reverse scheduling to plan the entire process. After determining the time required for printing, I allocated the remaining weeks across all other stages. As a result, the client received the finished books a full week ahead of the
deadline
Quality vs. cost
A deep understanding of printing technologies allows me to leverage the strengths of specific materials and processes – and to plan design solutions that work best for each particular case. This remains true even with the current challenges of limited paper availability and the growing use of inkjet digital offset
End-to-end
This was a turnkey project – the client didn’t have to worry about a thing. I coordinated copy editing as a subcontract, handled design and layout, selected the print shop that best matched the timeline, budget, and quality requirements, obtained the ISBN, oversaw the press check and print quality, and arranged delivery
